Performance Coach
Kin Student, Performance Coach
Ethan graduated from Vancouver Island University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and is currently completing his registration as a Kinesiologist. As a former Prime Performance athlete who has trained here for over 12 years, Ethan understands firsthand the impact that quality coaching, purposeful programming, and a supportive training environment can have on long-term success.
Growing up, Ethan participated in a variety of sports before focusing on hockey at a high level. His playing career included five seasons of Junior A hockey with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs (BCHL), Powell River Kings (BCHL), Fort McMurray Oil Barons (AJHL), and Nanaimo Clippers (BCHL). He went on to play for the Vancouver Island University Mariners, where he helped lead the team to two BCIHL championships, served as team captain, earned two league MVP awards, and graduated as the program’s all-time leading scorer.
Through years of competing at the junior and university levels, Ethan has worked alongside elite coaches, strength and conditioning specialists, therapists, and sport scientists. These experiences have shaped his evidence-based approach to training, allowing him to combine proven performance principles with practical coaching strategies that help athletes and clients achieve meaningful results.
Whether working with competitive athletes, youth, adults, or individuals beginning their fitness journey, Ethan strives to create an environment that is challenging, encouraging, and enjoyable. He believes that every client deserves a program tailored to their goals, abilities, and lifestyle, and he is passionate about helping people build confidence through movement and long-term progress.
Ethan is committed to continue expanding his knowledge through ongoing education and applying the latest research in strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and human performance. His goal is to not only help clients improve their performance but to also equip them with the knowledge and habits that support lifelong health and fitness.
For Ethan, the most rewarding part of coaching is watching clients accomplish goals they once thought were out of reach. Whether you’re training for sport, recovering from injury, or simply looking to become stronger and healthier, he’s excited to help you reach your full potential at Prime.
